People relocating to Maryland often choose to look at Howard County first because of it’s excellent schools.  Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is the school district that manages and runs the public schools of Howard County, Maryland.

Largest employers in Howard County Maryland

Howard County is home to several major employers, which is especially important for relocating family members who may be looking for work.  

You’ll find Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD, and it’s a quick drive to neighborhoods in Clarksville, Ellicott City, and Olney, MD.  

Oracle America employs more than 1000 in Columbia, as does Byk Gardner Inc.  Healthcare is a large employment sector in Howard County, too, encompassing Howard County General Hospital, and Lorien Health Systems.   

In addition, Howard County is a very reasonable drive for anyone working in Baltimore City or the DC area.
